After a successful first half
After a successful first half of the Westchester Concert Series, we return for the Fall with a great lineup for you! The Series is sponsored by MIX 98.1, Sedona Taphouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, James River Cellars Winery and Westchester Commons!
Each event is held on The Village Green from 5:30pm-8:30pm on the specific Fridays listed below, and each event features a local charity who benefit from food and beverage sales.
Friday, August 25th–“Route 64” benefiting Backpacks of Love
We kickoff the second half of this year’s series with local favorite, Route 64, performing a dynamic blend of Classic/Today’s Country, 60’s – 80’s Classic Rock/Pop, Southern Rock, and today’s contemporary artists (90’s – 00’s). This week’s charity is Backpacks of Love.
Friday, September 1st–“Flashback” benefiting Chesterfield Food Bank
Rescheduled from May, we bring back local “Flashback,” a group of extremely well-seasoned singers and musicians that have decades of combined experience performing on the biggest stages of the eastern United States. You may have seen them at Visions or Midway, and now they make their Westchester Concert Series debut!
Our charity for this week’s event is The Chesterfield Food Bank.
Friday, September 8th–“The English Channel” benefiting Operation Enduring Warrior
Next up, we go across the pond, well, at least music-wise, with RVA’s own, The English Channel. Formed in 2001, The English Channel authentically & meticulously recreates British rock and pop from the mid ‘60’s to the mid ‘70‘s. Each song they play sounds “just like the record” and just like you remember it. The members of this band have a passion for this music and it shows with their energy & enthusiasm onstage.
Our charity this week is Operation Enduring Warrior.
Friday, September 22nd–“The KOS Band/Kings of Swing” benefiting Conquer Chiari
One of our Concert Series’ original performers, back for their third straight year, the band that Richmond Magazine calls “the best local band in Richmond,” the KOS Band (or as you may know them, Kings of Swing!) The band dubbed, “Virginia’s most versatile dance and show band,” plays beach music, Motown favorites and everyone’s favorite music of the 70s through today! This event had a big crowd in 2015 and even larger crowd last year at Westchester, so you want to get here early for a great seat. Oh, and bring your shaggin’ shoes…there will be plenty of room for that, and the band loves to see you move to their grooves!
The charity this week is Conquer Chiari (on the eve of their 2nd Annual Walk at Westchester Commons)!
Friday, October 6–“En’Novation” benefiting Boys To Men Mentoring Network
We wrap up the 2017 Westchester Concert Series with local favorite party band, En’Novation, a group of extremely well-seasoned singers and musicians that have decades of combined experience performing on the biggest stages of the eastern United States. You may have seen them at Visions, Midway or even at the Midlothian Food Festival right here at Westchester Commons.
Our charity for our final concert event is Boys To Men Mentoring.
Thanks to everyone to has supported our Concert Series, our charities and our Westchester Commons merchants! We also appreciate you coming out to support live music in our area! Hope you had fun, because we’ve got even more live concert events for you in 2018!
